Camping week in Port Burwell
I had just recently got back from another fantastic year of the "Green Girls Camping Getaway". And yet AGAIN it was a hit. This year our theme was a Garden Party. My mom is such a creative person. We had purchased hats, ribbon and flowers from the dollar store and made bonnets.
We had done a couple of day trips this year. One was to Pinecroft Green Frog Tree Room. An absolutely stunning and peaceful place to go and see. It's a B & B but is open to the public, it also has a pottery barn on site and you are able to purchase some of the wonderful piece's that they make. It also has a small but quante restaurant that has 10 dishes on the menu, I chose to have the chicken and broccolli crepe with ceasar salad, so delicious! We found a perfect spot to have our picture taken, I think I would've been quite content to just sit in that spot for the day.
| Our second day trip was to Winter Wheat, a cute little place. It was a big garden like setting that anyone was able to walk through, the stuff they had made and randomly placed was unbelievable. I admire people with creative minds - for some reason I just don't have the nack for that kind of stuff. For the rest of the week we pretty much hung out at the beach, and I was able to read two of my books that I bought for this trip. |

Children a.k.a The dogs
Our dogs Gus and Roger are our children, they act like it and live a life of luxury.
Their spoiled and I'm not afraid to admit it. They are the only creatures that don't judge you, talk behind your back and will still be there for you after you have scolded them for something they shouldn't have done. They have toys like they are going out of style. Thank heavens that they enjoy the dollar store buys and not so much the store brand one's. They have the run of the house and furniture. A little more cleaning for me do to but it's ok with me. They are too cute to tell them "no".

Las Vegas~November 2010
I just realized that I haven't posted anything lately and how I could not say anything about my time in Vegas is just crazy. Brad and April decided to get married there when their original destination wedding was washed under due to the hurricane. I am so happy that they went there. I had a fabulous time!
The wedding day was perfect, not a cloud in the sky and turned out to be the warmest day we had for out time there. April's dress was gorgeous, she looked like a fairytale princess. And Brad looked stunning in his cream coloured suit. The bridesmaid dresses that we wore we beautiful. I am not a dress person but these dresses were comfortable.

I told Shane that I have the Vegas bug and I want to go back and soon!

Wedding Shower
Well here is the first of three blogs to post. So much had been going on lately that I wasn't sure how far to go back. So I decided to start with my future SIL wedding shower. Fantastic turn out, it wasn't your typical shower where you have finger foods, and little pastries etc. This turned out to be a sit down meal, April's mom thought it would be a good idea to do this because April and Brad were having a destination wedding and not everyone could make it.
Sabrina and I
April had asked me to make paper bag lanterns for the shower, I'll be honest I had no idea what she was talking about until I googled it. Thank God for Go
After a long day of preparing food and making sure the guests had everything they needed. The day had come to an end. But it was all worth it.

Dress Shopping
Yesterday I went to Buffalo with April and Sabrina shopping, solely for one reason- for Sabrina and I to purchase our bridesmaid dress for April's wedding coming up in November. We went to the store that April had already purchased her beautiful wedding gown at.
It was weird, I was in a store with hundred's of gorgeous wedding gowns and I had no desire to look at any of them. Odd, isn't it?? I mean what girl wouldn't be tempted to even have a peak at a couple of them. Not this girl.
After a couple of hours trying on dresses, mainly for the colour. We have decided. April had picked a style of dress for us to wear but just didn't know what colour to go with. So there is going to be three different colours.
Sabrina will be wearing tangerine-

Emily will be wearing mermaid-

And I will be wearing Guava (isn't that a passion fruit?)-

The pictures don't do the colours justice. When we come back I'll make sure I post some pictures from.......

10 yr Camping Anniversary

This year was our anniversary for the "Green Girls Camping Getaway".
The last two years I wasn't able to make it due to school and holiday conflicts, I was so happy that I was able to make this year =) I'm not sure how we got this started or exactly who's idea it was but I'm glad it was started. I look forward to this camping trip every year because I get to spend time with the women that I admire, love and look up to and maybe grow up to be like them.
What I look forward to most is spending time with my mom. When we first started going we were just doing the weekend like everybody else(Fri-Sun). But found it wasn't long enough so we started staying a couple of days longer, then it would turn into a full week, this year we were there for a full 10days! Aunt Val was able to stay until Tuesday and Aunt Viv was a trooper like us and stayed to the very end.
We started off doing the tents for the 1st couple of years

Then we moved up to a pop-up trailer for the week
I am so happy we have the trailer now, my back still gets a bit sore but not as much as sleeping in a tent ;)
Next year our camping theme is going to be........
Minus the secret though, mom already has idea'sfloating around in her head =) I can't wait!!!!!!!!!
