Wedding Shower

Well here is the first of three blogs to post. So much had been going on lately that I wasn't sure how far to go back. So I decided to start with my future SIL wedding shower. Fantastic turn out, it
wasn't your typical shower where you have finger foods, and little pastries etc. This turned out to be a sit down meal, April's mom thought it would be a good idea to do this because April and Brad were having a destination wedding and not everyone could make it.
Sabrina and I
made our way to Wainfleet and got there around 11am. No rest, we dove right in to start preparing everything. I ended being in control of washing a peeling 4 bags of potato's. That's right 40 POUNDS of potato's washed and peeled by hand. I agree a little sore when I was done. But those scallop potato's were quite delish =)

April had asked me to make paper bag lanterns for the shower, I'll b
e honest I had no idea what she was talking about until I googled it. Thank God for Google. My mom was a dear and came over to give me a hand, she did the top of the lanterns while I had cut out the design. Must say I wasn't too keen on making these, wasn't sure what all entailed on making them. But actually it's quite simple, it's up to you on the difficulty of the design you want to make.

After a long day of preparing food a
nd making sure the guests had everything they needed. The day had come to an end. But it was all worth it.
Love you girls xoxo

Dress Shopping

Yesterday I went to Buffalo with April and Sabrina shopping, solely for one reason- for Sabrina and I to purchase our bridesmaid dress for April's wedding coming up in November. We went to the store that April had already purchased her beautiful wedding gown at.

It was weird, I was in a store with hundred's of gorgeous wedding gowns and I had no desire to look at any of them. Odd, isn't it?? I mean what girl wouldn't be tempted to even have a peak at a couple of them. Not this girl.

After a couple of hours trying on dresses, m
ainly for the colour. We have decided. April had picked a style of dress for us to wear but just didn't know what colour to go with. So there is going to be three different colours.

Sabrina will be wearing tangerine-

Emily will be wearing mermaid-

And I will be wearing Guava (isn't that a passion fruit?)-

The pictures don't do the colours justice. When we come back I'll make sure I post some pictures from.......

10 yr Camping Anniversary

This year was our anniversary for the "Green Girls Camping Getaway".
The last two years I wasn't able to make it due to school and holiday conflicts, I was so happy that I was able to make this year =) I'm not sure how we got this started or exactly who's idea it was but I'm glad it was started. I look forward to this camping trip every year because I get to spend time with the women that I admire, love and look up to and maybe grow up to be like them.

What I look forward to most is spending time with my mom. When we first started going we were just doing the weekend like everybody else(Fri-Sun). But found it wasn't long enough so we started staying a couple of days longer, then it would turn into a full week, this year we were there for a full 10days! Aunt Val was able to stay until Tuesday and Aunt Viv was a trooper like us and stayed to the very end.

We started off doing the tents for the 1st couple of years
Then we moved up to a pop-up trailer for the week
I am so happy we have the trailer now, my back still gets a bit sore but not as much as sleeping in a tent ;)
Next year our camping theme is going to be........
Minus the secret though, mom already has idea's
floating around in her head =) I can't wait!!!!!!!!!

Me exercise??? Never, or so I thought

Well I never would call myself a health nut or exercise guru. But something has gotten to me in the last little bit to slowly change my outlook on eating healthier and to start exercising. OH, I know- it's called FAT! Yup, that dirty 3 letter word has snuck up on me and BAM hardly any of my clothes fit :(

And I can recall the day that it happened. I was getting ready to go over to a friends house with my OH and thought "no sweat" it would just take me a minute to change into a pair of jeans and a top. I got my favourite pair of jeans on ( a little snug) but thought they would stretch a bit after wearing them. Went and grabbed a top from my closet and put it on, a quick look in the mirror and STOP. I can't wear this, my muffin top has gotten way to large and it makes me look hideous. So back to the closet I go to try on other tops and get the same reaction for every single one :( Mind you the jeans are still feeling snug, no give in them what-so-ever, in fact there starting to hurt. So off they came. Found my jogging pants and a t-shirt and off we go. Feeling depressed and fat.

So I would say the last month or two my OH and I have been talking about joining a gym. Which is great, I don't think I could ever join one alone and I think OH wanted to join because his brother and best friend go to a gym and have lost alot of weight. So I am happy to say we did it, we joined a gym.....finally!

Our first night going was on Wednesday, did 15 min on the bike and then did some weights. Focusing on our shoulders and legs. Which was dumb on my part, just for the legs anyways, I went for a 2 hour hike with my mom and step dad in the afternoon. My legs are hurting me today I tell ya! So I am hoping to go to the gym at least 3 times a week, if I can't do it I'll try for 2 days a week and throw in the stairs that's by my house.

Puppysitting

Shane and I are puppysitting for friends of ours while they are in Florida (lucky buggers). We have puppy sat before for Shane's parents so we figured it would be a no brainer to have three dogs instead of the normal four. I don't regret it, honestly I don't. But for some reason my dogs have become complete A-HOLES as they gotten older. Poor Rocky is only 9 months (or ten) old and has no clue how to deal with Gus and Roger. It's more Roger than Gus, I have a 30lb dog who has an attitude problem. Rocky comes near him and he growls and shows his teeth, which makes Gus go into protective mode of his little brother....OY!!!!

It's been four days since we've had Rocky and things are starting to get better. Roger doesn't constantly growl when Rocky walks by him and Gus will actually lay near him.

So hopefully in the next fifteen days things will go alot smoother and who knows- maybe they will all play together( I highly doubt it though). How can they not get along with this cute guy???

Chat with you later!!

Certificate

So waiting ever so patiently- 3 months to be exact, but who's counting ;) My certificate finally arrived in the mail. YAY!!!! I showed Shane, just 'cause I am proud of it and told him to be VERY careful while checking it out, "That's the most expensive piece of paper you have in your hand right now"...lol! Now the hunt is on for a nice looking frame for it.

My Girlfriends- My Sisters

Tonight I had the pleasure of hanging out with my friends. We didn't do anything special, just hung out ate LOTS of food and watched a bit of football with the boys. I guess you could say I am having a "mushy" moment and I just wanted to thank you "girls" for being a part of my life =)

All I Need to Know About Life I Learned From My Girl Friends
*Good times are even better when they're shared.
*A good long talk can cure almost anything.
*Everyone needs someone with whom to share their secrets.
*Listening is just as important as talking.
*An understanding friend is better than a therapist; and cheaper too!
*Laughter makes the world a happier place.
*Friends are like wine; they get better with age.
*Sometimes you just need a shoulder to cry on.
*Great minds think alike, especially when they are female!
*When it comes to "bonding," females do it better.
*YOU ARE NEVER TOO OLD FOR SLUMBER PARTIES!!!!
*Girls just want to have fun.
*It's important to make time to do 'girl things'.
*You can never have too many shoes.
*GEMS MAY BE PRECIOUS, BUT FRIENDSHIP IS PRICELESS!!!!!

I don't just consider you girls as my best friends but as my sisters as well

Love you girls
